The entrance to 2186 Oak Bay Avenue is near the Starbucks between the Gallery and the Bookstore where you’ll find the front door to this heritage building (the former Oak Bay Theatre). Please head up the stairs (there is no elevator), turn to the right and follow the hall until you reach the last office door on the left (#207).

The sign on the door is True Nature Counselling & Psychotherapy. There is no waiting room, as the door opens right into the counselling office. Please aim to arrive as close to your time as possible and wait outside the door until I open it for you at the time of your session.

Parking and Bus Routes
Parking is free on Oak Bay Avenue and on side streets. The office is on the bus route in the heart of Oak Bay Village. These bus lines stop in the Village : 2, 8. Check BC Transit for schedules.

Cancellation Policy
If you are no longer able to make your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment are subject to a cancellation fee. If you are feeling too unwell to attend your in-person appointment, a phone session may take its place.

Schedule and Hours
In person: Wednesdays and Thursdays (some evening available). 

Online: Mondays and Tuesdays.

Online and Phone Services
Encrypted online video services are offered for clients who prefer online or live in other parts of BC.

I use a secure medical-grade video conferencing service that requires no extra software on your part. If video is not an option, I also offer phone sessions.

Rates
Rates are set in accordance with recommendations from the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). The clinical hour is 50 minutes, with remaining minutes of the hour spent on clinician treatment planning and record keeping.

50-minute session: $160.00.                                                75-minute session: $240.00.

Payment is taken at the time of the session via e-transfer or cheque. For online and phone sessions, payment is via e-transfer only, at time of the session. Receipts will be provided to you by email.

CVAP
I am approved as a CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program) service provider. If a client has approval for counselling through CVAP, they pay out of pocket and then submit receipts to CVAP for reimbursement. I do not offer direct billing to CVAP.

At this time, CVAP reimburses clients $135/session.

The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) assists victims, immediate family members, and some witnesses in coping with the effects of violent crime.  It provides financial benefits to help offset financial losses and assist in recovery. Link to the BC Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).

Insurance
Some individuals have coverage through extended health benefit plans that will reimburse for the cost of services in whole or in part. Please check with your insurance provider if they cover the services of a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

Groups
Group counselling workshops are priced depending on the class. They are also offered in a separate location from my office due to space requirements. Contact me for information on the latest workshop.
